Appointments can be made by contacting the Surgery by telephone, between 8am – 6.30pm Mon – Fri, Or Via our online consultation service.
Our Receptionists will ask for information regarding the patient to offer the most appropriate service available.
All of our clinicians have additional jobs in the wider NHS and medical education on the days they are not working at the surgery but, to enable ‘continuity’ as much as possible, the following are the typical working days at Distington:

We have an online consultation service available for routine medical queries which do not require urgent medical assistance. To access please click on the link below and complete the online consultation form and the surgery will be in contact within 48 hours (excluding weekends).
Cancel your appointment
It is really helpful if you inform us as soon as you know you can no longer attend your appointment to enable re-allocation of your appointment slot.
If you cannot attend your appointment
- Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS app).
- Reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
- Phone us on 01946 830207, Monday to Friday, when we are open
- Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday, when we are open
Access For The Disabled Or Wheelchair Users
There is a ramp for wheelchair users at the front of the surgery and a doorbell at the front door should anyone require assistance entering the building. There are disabled toilet facilities and all consulting rooms are on the ground floor.

Chaperones
If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation, then please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment or checking in.
It may also be that the practitioner your appointment is with would like to have a chaperone present, you will be asked for your consent to a chaperone.
