Our Mission Statement - Our aim here at Distington Surgery is to provide a quality healthcare service to the community and assist them in improving and maintaining their health through teamwork, education and specialist advice. Distington Surgery promotes understanding and respect among all patients and staff through a confidential, unbiased, caring and committed environment.


Distington Surgery is a member of Copeland Primary Care Network which covers a registered patient population of circa 62,000. The network is made up of seven member practices namely Distington Group Practice, Fellview Healthcare, Lowther Medical Centre, Mansion House Surgery, Queen Street Surgery, Seascale Group Practice, Westcroft House Surgery.  Copeland Primary Care Network has adopted a flat practice network structure where all seven practices are equal and employment contracts are shared across all seven member practices.

If you need to see or speak to a GP/Nurse please telephone the surgery on 01946 830 207 appointments are available for patients with immediate & ongoing care needs.
you will be unable to access entry to the surgery unless you have been specifically asked to attend, this is to protect all our patients as we may need to see patients who are particularly vulnerable.

Please allow 72 hours for repeat prescription ordering
Please note that if you are prescribed medication from your appointment at the Red Hub someone else should collect this medication on your behalf and after your appointment at the red hub you should immediately return home.

 

PATIENTS GIVEN APPOINTMENTS AT OUR RED HUB:
During the current COVID-19 outbreak, patients experiencing certain symptoms (breathing issues and / or fever) and who have been telephone assessed by a GP to need a face-to-face examination will be called to our local 'Red Hub'.

Please note that if you are prescribed medication from your appointment at the Red Hub someone else should collect this medication on your behalf and after your appointment at the red hub you should immedi...atley return home.

Cumbria County Council and partners have launched a new emergency support service for people at high risk of becoming seriously ill, as a result of COVID-19, and who do not have support available (friends, family or neighbours)

This new service aims to help with getting food, medicines, essential supplies and home deliveries.

The emergency support helpline is open from Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm and 10am to 2pm at weekends.

The service will also accept referrals from members of the public who may be converned about people in their community.
